Sexuality: Hetero. Or at least, we're pretty sure. She's the "Godess of Love" after all.
Appearance: In civilian form, Minako is a petite Japanese girl with dark brown eyes and brown hair. Her hair reaches just past her shoulders and she has fringy bangs reaching her eyebrows. Since she's always in the spotlight, Minako is always sure to wear designer clothing, or at least clothing that looks like it could be designer.
As Sailor Venus, Minako's hair is long, blonde and curls at the tips. She keeps it out of her face with a large red bow and has curled bangs to her eyebrows. Her fuku is a slim sailor uniform with a slightly gathered orange skirt and orange collar. She wears a large blue bow on the front of her fuku, a larger one on the back, elbow length white gloves with orange bands at the end and orange pumps with a strap around her ankle. On her waist, she wears her Venus Love-Me chain as a belt.
Personality: Minako puts on a brave face for the public. She's always kind to her fans and smiling when in the public eye. She will stop to sign an autograph and take a picture with a fan. Very rarely will she be cross, unless her trust has been lost.
Under any normal circumstances, that would be her personality through and through. But Minako tends to distance herself from others to keep them from getting hurt. She'll constantly do something to keep others from growing any more attatched to her than they already are. Because she is ill, she doesn't want anyone to hurt for her after she's gone.
When it comes to protecting her Princess, or any of her senshi duties, Minako is extremely stubborn. She won't rely on anyone else to offer her a helping hand and once she's made a decision, she sticks to it. She's very loyal to her comrades and has even been known to put herself in danger to keep others from getting hurt. As leader of the senshi, she is protective of the others, but pushes them to do their best. This distances her even more, because she won't let them get by with just doing well.
Once you break through her shell, Minako is extremely caring and kind, even sometimes a little ditzy. Only two people, however, have managed to break through to her. Artemis, her familiar, and Rei Hino, her best friend (though she'd never admit it).
Abilities: As Sailor Venus, Minako has the ability to use "love" based attacks: Love-me Chain, Love and Beauty Shock, Crescent Beam. However, her powers will falter when she reached Manhatten. Although she'll still be able to henshin and use her chain as a whip, her shocks and beams will die down quickly. In fact, whereas she was able to use her powers without constrictions before, she is now only able to henshin for short amounts of time and will be lucky if her powers even decide to work.
As frail and weak as she looks, she's adept in martial arts from her years as a senshi (she can't always rely on her powers).
Weaknesses: Minako is weak because of an illness she was diagnosed with. While the illness is unclear, it is fatal, and seems to sap her of her strength. She has been known to black out when she's pushed herself too much. She's somehow managed to keep it a secret from the public, however.
One of Minako's biggest weaknesses is her inability to rely on others. She distances herself so much from others that she's managed to isolate herself completely. It also makes it hard for her to open up and make friends.
Manhattanite or outsider? Outsider
History:
Minako's history starts far before the history of most. She was Princess Venus, lead senshi to the Moon Princess during the Silver Millenium. Times were carefree, and probably all too perfect. Princess Venus was loved and revered by many and the object of affection to many others. (A knight named Adonis was one man who sought her affection. General Kunzite of Prince Endymion's Shittenou was the other.) Everything went wrong when Queen Beryl attacked the Kingdom and it fell. As hard as Venus tried, she failed to save the kingdom and her Princess committed suicide with Venus' sword as Endymion died at her side and the other senshi had already perished.
Minako was reborn on Earth and lived a seemingly normal life. That is, until she was approached by Artemis (her dear friend and advisor back in the Silver Millenium) and regained memories of her past. She was given the disguise of Sailor V to fight crime with. She also used this disguise to try and discern what the Dark Kingdom was up to, and why they were returning. Minako was living as a famous popstar, with several hit singles and CDs, during this time and was finding it difficult to keep up with both identities. Despite the stress, she continued her duties and her civilian life. Even when she was diagnosed with a fatal illness.
With very little time left on Earth, Minako made herself an oath to find and watch over the rest of the senshi as they awakened. She was always there to save the day if the others were to fall behind, she never let her team down, whether they knew it or not. It wasn't until a particularly rough battle with Jaedite and Nephrite that Sailor Venus appeared and revealed herself as the Moon Princess. (She was always the decoy for her Princess, since the two looked so alike they might have been twins.) She continued this charade until the others realized she wasn't the Moon Princess before she set up a meeting with Zoicite.
Ever loyal to his Prince, Zoicite agreed to Venus' meeting because it was promised to be a favorable solution for the both of them. The two decided that the Prince's and Princess' memories must be erased, and that they should lose all memory of ever loving each other, if the future were to be safe from all harm.
However, before Minako could go through with their plan, she fainted and woke up in a place she'd never expected-- Manhatten.
